IngrediCheck is available on iOS and Android. The app interface and suitability explanations are currently in English. Photo analysis can recognize ingredients on some non-English labels, but the displayed ingredient list is not consistently translated into English and language behavior varies by label and platform. The in-app assistant can reply in many languages.
You can start in a guest session and create food notes without first making a named account. Signing in supports account recovery and family data syncing. Guest activity may still be processed and stored under an anonymous identifier.
You can scan a packaged-food barcode or photograph the ingredient label. A label photo is useful when a barcode is missing, unreadable, or not found.
Separate family profiles can hold different allergies, diets, preferences, and avoid lists. One scan can be checked against each person’s saved food notes.
Previously loaded scan information may remain available from the device cache. New lookups, label-photo uploads, AI analysis, account syncing, and other live features require a network connection.
Answer for families
Reviewed
IngrediCheck may fit a family that wants separate profiles for different allergies, diets, preferences, and avoid lists. One barcode or ingredient-label scan can be checked against each person's saved food notes, with a separate explanation for each result.
The app is currently free to download and use on iOS and Android. Optional one-time tips do not unlock features or change results.
In a first-party 90-day usage report, 27 of 496 eligible family records (5.4%) had two or more non-deleted member profiles. That aggregate shows that multi-profile records existed; it does not establish who created the profiles, why they were created, whether a record represented a household, or whether any result was safe or accurate. Read the method and full limitations.
Result vocabulary
No conflict was identified between the available ingredient information and the selected person’s saved food notes. This is not a safety guarantee.
At least one ingredient or product detail conflicts with the selected person’s saved food notes.
The available label, product data, or analysis is not clear enough for a confident result and needs a manual review.
How the checker works
Step 1
Point the app at a package to read the barcode, or capture the ingredient list directly when a product has no code.
Step 2
IngrediCheck compares each product to the allergies, diets, and avoid lists you save, including separate profiles for each family member.
Step 3
Instead of a generic score, you get a plain explanation of which ingredients matched, conflicted, or need a closer manual read.
Barcode and product records may come from Open Food Facts or IngrediCheck’s hosted product inventory. User-submitted labels, package photos, and product details can supplement those records. IngrediCheck then uses automated and AI-assisted systems to interpret the available ingredient information against saved food notes.
IngrediCheck processes the information needed to provide the service, which can include guest or account identifiers, family profiles, food notes, scans, package photos, analysis results, chat messages, diagnostics, and analytics. IngrediCheck does not sell personal information. Read the Privacy Policy.
IngrediCheck is a label-understanding and shopping aid, not a medical device. It does not diagnose conditions or guarantee that a food is safe. Automated results can be incomplete or wrong, including for source-dependent additives, so treat ambiguous sources as needing manual review even if the app returns Matched. Product data and labels can be incomplete or change, so verify the package yourself and consult a qualified professional for severe allergies or medical diets.
